Public School Communications

Content- The goal of communications is education.  PSC can help you educate the public about your district’s goals, methods and programs by ensuring that your messages support your mission and your strategy.  Whether for a public forum, town meeting, newsletter or press release, PSC can help you with:

Editing- Make sure your public message, whether given as a speech or issued as policy, a press release, newsletter, or bulletin, is meeting the needs and expectations of your audience.  Inspire confidence and respect for your district so that you will have the support you need to achieve your goals.

Original Writing and Publicity-  Let your community know what your district has accomplished, what its objectives are and how you plan to achieve them.  Develop clear and concise policies that all can understand.  Provide relevant and interesting content for your website, news releases and fact sheets.

Coordination- Coordinate your messages so that your audiences are informed of breaking news, scheduled events and meetings, personnel changes, policies and procedures.  Make sure your website content is up to date and comprehensive.  Issue regular bulletins and newsletters.  Educate your public about significant changes and decisions through reports and position papers.  Address issues of key concern, such as special education, achievement, and pedagogical shifts, to build public confidence and engender public support.  Establish relationships with your local press.
